Math and Art

Since my only posts lately have been about Science, I thought I'd better post a different subject to prove that we really do learn more in school other than just Science!   Today we were missing several students due to cross country, but we still rocked out the learning!   We are continuing with ordering and comparing larger numbers.  Today we used Venn diagrams (made out of string) and number cards (that we had created with specific criteria) to compare numbers.  One side of the Venn diagram may have said "larger than 6000" and the other side, "even".   The students did a great job with the different attributes given to compare their numbers!

This afternoon, the runners were back and we completed our Tree project in art.  It's a Northern Light Silhouette! Inside the silhouette we wrote with gel pens words and sentences about trees.   They are very unique and I love the look they have created using chalk pastels!

Stay tuned for more Science pictures too!   Lifting the teacher with a lever?!   How can it get better than that?!!

Congrats to all our runners today!   I hear that they did an AWESOME job!    Well done on your active life style!
