Thursday Surprise

The students sure were wondering why on earth I would have them bring in sticks, leaves, and rocks to class!  In fact, they were spending their recesses collecting such things and the supervisors were wondering what in what going on in 4C!  Well... we built Shiloh's pen!    They had the entire afternoon to plan and get creative.  It was interesting to watch the planners, the ones who "didn't need to plan", and the meticulous future engineers carefully glue their sticks together.  Here are a few pictures from the planning to the middle stages!

Science Commercials

This is a test to see if this works!  Please click a like button underneath if you can watch this video!!    We are making commercials to promote helping the environment in Science.  We are using our new iPad in class and using the iMovie app to video this.  Definitely some improvements needed but these guys are my guinea pigs!! This will wrap up our Science unit on Waste and Our World.  We begin our new unit on Plants soon! 

McHappy Day

It was AWESOME to see so many of my students at McD's last night! I was only there for 1 short hour, but what an hour it was!  It was HEAPS of fun, as my Aussie husband would say!  Thanks to Jack for taking these pictures for me and to ALL the staff at McDonald's!  They let us crash their space, take over their machines and make a huge mess!  I'll admit, I let a chocolate milkshake overflow... just once!  My past life of working at DQ paid off as I made those ice cream cones and mastered the swirl on top... not sure if that's a McD trademark, but it was last night! :-)  Again, it was great to see our school community come together for a great cause and help those in need.  Hats off to you all!
